How Montero Works
Complete Guide to Your Single-Hand GMT Watch
Owning a Montero watch is more than wearing a luxury timepiece. It is an invitation to experience time differently, combining mechanical watchmaking with a design inspired by travel, exploration, and some of the world's most iconic beaches. Made in the UAE with more than 35 years of watchmaking experience behind the brand.

A Walk Through the Engine of Montero World Time Watch
Behind Montero's distinctive appearance is a mechanical system designed to combine everyday timekeeping with GMT functionality. At its heart is the Montero Automatic GMT movement, a movement that allows Montero to track a second time zone while maintaining its automatic operation. The movement provides approximately 41 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The watch is designed around a deliberately different approach to displaying time. Instead of relying on a conventional minute and second hand, Montero uses a single hour hand alongside a dedicated GMT hand. The rotating inner beach ring then brings the world-time concept into the design, allowing you to reference a chosen destination while keeping the watch visually clean and travel-inspired.
Understanding Your Montero Watch
Every part of Montero has a role to play in creating its distinctive experience. The overall design combines a 41 mm 316L stainless steel case with polished and brushed finishing, available in the Global English Edition and Regional Arabic Edition.
Single-Hand Display
Rather than having separate hour and minute hands, Montero uses one main hand to show the time. The separate GMT hand makes one full turn every 24 hours.
Rotating Beach Ring
Instead of traditional city names, Montero uses iconic beach destinations. The dedicated crown allows you to rotate the inner ring and align your chosen beach.
Sapphire Crystal
Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, selected for maximum scratch resistance and clear legibility under all lighting conditions.
Dual Winding Crown
Inside, the automatic movement powers the watch through wrist movement, while manual winding via the main crown can be used when unworn for days.
How to Read the Single-Hand Display
Montero takes a different approach to telling time. Instead of using separate hour, minute, and second hands, it uses a single hour hand. The idea is simple: give you enough information to understand the time while removing the visual busyness of a conventional dial.

Understanding the GMT Function
GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time and refers to the ability to track another time zone in addition to your local time. With Montero, your local time is shown through the primary single hour hand, while the GMT hand provides a 24-hour reference for a second time zone.
Montero adds its own interpretation through the rotating beach ring. Instead of traditional city names, the watch uses eight iconic beach destinations. You can rotate the inner ring using the dedicated crown and align your preferred destination with the GMT reference.
When traveling abroad, set your main hour hand to local time and use the GMT hand to maintain reference to your home country time without altering the local time.

Getting started with your Montero is straightforward. Follow these simple steps to set up your watch.
